I took this photo because of the interesting history behind London's street names. In this case it's Carting Lane, which used to be called Dirty Lane. The sewer gas destructor lamp is a replica of the original Webb Lamp designed both to reduce the hazards methane gas that built up in sewers, and also to cast light on the streets of England’s cities. This artwork is a blend of several of my photographs to which textures are applied in layers of light with artistic scripts and elements. It comes as a ready to hang canvas wrap.
